Apache and PHP update
Apache has been updated to the latest stable 2.4 series.
PHP has been updated to the latest 5.3 version. We’ve previously used
version 5.2.17, but the 5.2 series is long obsolete and not supported
by the PHP Team.
Please check if your sites are working properly, as these are major changes.
In preparation for the World IPv6 Day
To celebrate the first (and maybe last) World IPv6 Day on 8th June 2011, Atwa.us has already switched to a dual IPv6 and IPv4 stack.
Our website and some other services are from now on IPv6 ready.
Enjoy and join the World IPv6 Day on 8th June 2011 if you can.

Webmail udpdate
The webmail service on Atwa has been updated to Roundcube version 0.5RC.
This release features lots bugfixes to the previous releases and many enhancements visible to the end user.
We hope you enjoy this new experience.
Updated webmail and improved MTA configuration
We proudly present our new webmail system based on the latest Roundcube Mail 0.4 Beta. Please have a look at the new features like threaded message listing etc.
We improved also our under the hood mail system configuration. We deal more strictly with spammers and viruses from now on. We improved also the submission port support.
If you experienced any kind of trouble after these changes, do not hesitate to contact us and describe your mail issue.
New SSL Certificates
We are using new SSL certificates from today on. Our main certificate is as usual verified by Thawty Consulting cc, but our jabber certificate is self-signed, so please remember to add it to either your client and your web browser – it’s safe to do so.
Submission port 587 enabled
Due to the change of the sending policy via port 25 of Telekomunikacja Polska the submission port 587 was enabled to guarantee mail sending for TP customers.
Spam and Ham autolearning
I’ve just enabled a new feature. Automatic Spam nad Ham learning from your INBOX.
How do you enable it?
Just create a “Spam” directory inside your INBOX – either do it in your mail program or via webmail.
It’s important to call it “Spam”, not “SPAM” nor “spam” nor anything else – just “Spam”.
When this directory exists you’ve literally enabled autolearning.
How this works?
Everyday at 7AM the program looks at your INBOX and examines all your mails as ham,
and all those mails you moved to the Spam folder as spam. It’s as simple as that.
This means you have 24h to selfcheck what’s spam and what’s not in your INBOX.
Don’t panic if you don’t do it on time and the program examins your mail faulty.
Just move you mail as it should be and the program will then reorganize it’s database
the next day it runs.
To check whether you have properly enabled autolearning type “spamhamal” as shell command.
POP3 service EOL
POP3 no more on Atwa. Use IMAP from now on as it’s better
and lets us do incredible things ;-)
Manage your mail aliases on your own too
From today on, you can also manage your own mail aliases on your own
without bothering me. The rules are the same as for webvhosts.
Aliases are synced every 30minutes and new domains are relayed automatically.
To add your own aliases type in ‘mailaliases’ and fill in the form.
Manage your vhosts on your own
From now on you can manage your web virtual hosts on your own.
Simply type in ‘webvhosts’ and do as described.
The vhosts are then synced with our webserver every 30 minutes.
Note that you already have a vhost for your account in form of
username.atwa.us and it’s unrelated to the vhosts you make for yourself.
There’re also some forbidden domains.
To add your own domain, simply delegate it’s A record to 78.46.97.144
and then add a web virtual host.
